Outstanding venue for a relaxing break. Fantastic room with all the amenities you will want. Great food in a small dining area but still spacious enough. Will definitely be returning soon for another break. Staff were both friendly and helpful, service very efficient, only disappointment no decent bourbon. Would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic place to stay. This hotel is charming with typical rooms (just pay attention of the height of doors). Nice pub and good food also available there.

We booked to stay on a Sat night after a wedding locally. Website looked good but sometimes in the flesh things are not as good. This is definitely not true of The Black Horse and Bert's Rooms. Such a friendly welcome, very accommodating as we arrived earlier than check in and shown to a very lovely room. Clean as a whistle, towels, robes, slippers, kettle AND nespresso coffee machine with all trimmings. Huge bed, gorgeous en-suite. We were well impressed! Breakfast in morning was waitress served, plenty of choice, well cooked and presented. Great value for money all round. The owners clearly know how to run a pub with rooms professionally, hospitably and successfully. Would definitely recommend. Thank you

Thank you so much to The Black Horse at Clifton; yesterday they hosted our family and friends following my mum's funeral. It was so well done - the staff were attentive, efficient and very respectful, and the buffet tea was excellent. The space that we had met the needs of everyone in the party - it was clean, comfortable and airy. The whole afternoon went really well, so a huge thank you to all involved.

I have visited a couple of times now for Sunday lunch. I have always found the the staff welcoming & friendly. Always doing their best to accommodate your needs. The Sunday lunch on the occasions that I have been, has been beautiful. Vegetables fresh, meat tender. I hove to say a big Thank you to Jane, who went out of her way to accommodate our seating arrangements on Sunday. Thank you. We’ll definitely be back.

Nice pub with rooms. The building is very old and has exposed oak beams, uneven walls and a lot of character. There is a beautiful courtyard with lovely hanging baskets in full bloom. Tasty breakfast despite my egg being overcooked. My room was the smallest one (Jockey), but the single bed was fine even though I'm over 6 foot tall. The floor slopes towards the window which means that the bed also slopes down towards the head end which isn't great. The ensuite was very small and it was difficult to wash my face in the tiny sink without banging my head on the glass shelf above the sink. Shower head was a bit low for someone my height, but I was still able to have an adequate shower. It was good value (for the area) and I would definitely recommend it to others despite the few niggles.

Didn't stay over, called in and had a lovely meal here today. Delicious food, friendly staff, well kept beer. Thanks!

Absolutely fabulous Steak and Ale pie here with a couple of pints of Landlord. Couldn't fault it.

Went for weeding there really nice good atmosphere i really enjoyed place servise and everything else

We got married at the Black Horse Inn and the end of September and it was perfect. The team were all amazing, dietary requirements were listened to, discussed and met. We were able to have tastings too, the food was amazing every time. Lydia and her team did an amazing job the whole way through planning and on the day. The DJ acknowledged our requests and kept the dancefloor full all night. We had a couple of hiccups with our room but they were all sorted promptly. Highly recommend even just for a meal, but particularly for a Wedding.
